What Are Trim Levels?

When you’re looking to purchase a vehicle, it’s important to consider which trim level you’d like to buy. Trims are essentially configurations of features that come with the model. Since not all features come standard, it’s important to prioritize which trim has what you need.

Whether it’s improved safety or a larger engine, you’ll want to look through the available trims to see which configuration has everything you need.

    2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trim Levels

    The new 2021 Silverado trim levels give you a range of choices to customize your vehicle. It starts with three cab styles: a 2-door Regular Cab, a 4-door Double Cab, and a Crew Cab for maximum back-seat passenger space. There are also three bed lengths:

    There are a total of eight trim levels: the WT, the Custom, the Custom Trail Boss, the LT, the LTZ, the RST, the LT Trail Boss, and the High Country. Each trim is customizable with a ton of optional packages and each offers unique features and capabilities.

    Chevy Silverado 1500 Trim Levels

      Silverado 1500 Work Truck

      At the WT (Work Truck) level, you’ll get a 4.3L EcoTec3 V6 engine with 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque. It comes with headlamps using a halogen reflector and Daytime Running Lamps. It also provides a Rear Vision Camera and the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System interface with 7-inch touchscreen, two USB ports, Bluetooth®, and full smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. 

        Silverado 1500 Custom and Custom Trail Boss

        The 2021 model of the Silverado 1500 brings us some new trims: the Custom trim and the Custom Trail Boss trim. The Custom trim comes with standard cruise control that will make maintaining speed on the highway easy.

        The Custom Trail Boss brings some extra features that help make towing a bit easier, like Hitch Guidance. This feature sets guidelines along the Rear Vision Camera to help you ease in when trying to tow.

          Chevy Silverado 1500 LT and LTZ

          Stepping up to the Chevy Silverado 1500 LT level includes features like a tailgate with EZ Lift assist as well as steering-wheel mounted controls.

          The Silverado LTZ adds a 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine that provides 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. LED fog lamps and LED tail lamps as well as an automatic locking rear differential, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated driver and front passenger seats, and driver memory settings all come standard.

            Silverado 1500 RST and LT Trail Boss

            As we move higher through the trims, we find even more advanced options. The available Silverado 1500 RST trim brings an available 2.7L Turbo engine. This powertrain provides 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft of torque.

            Looking even further, we see the LT Trail Boss trim that brings much of what we saw in the Custom Trail Boss trim, including Hitch Guidance. However, we now find a standard dual-outlet exhaust system that adds some extra style to your truck’s exterior.

              High Country

              The High Country provides all the above features, plus Front and Rear Park Assist, an integrated trailer brake controller, and a 7-speaker Bose® Premium Sound System as well as a suite of safety features. Drivers can have greater peace of mind while making use of standard Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert.
