Active Safety Systems
Airbags work to keep you safe during an accident, but it’s best for us to stay out of accidents altogether. Luckily, we have active safety capabilities that help vehicles to react to potential collisions even before you do. When you take a look at the Chevy Malibu, you’ll find it bristling with a wealth of available active safety systems.
Among these is Automatic Emergency Braking, which slows your car automatically in the event that you approach a car too quickly. If you spend a lot of time in traffic, you’ve likely encountered times when traffic sped up and then rapidly slowed down. This technology is designed to protect you in moments when you don’t expect to suddenly stop.
Maneuvering parking spots is also made easy with an available Rear Park Assist sensor. Positioned right behind you, this sensor will work to detect when you’re coming too close to an obstacle behind you. If you get too close to an obstacle, your vehicle will produce an alert inside the cabin which will get faster the closer you get to the object.
In order to help you when you’re on the highway, this sedan even offers an available Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert. This system is able to monitor your blind spots for other vehicles alongside you. If there’s a car in your blind spot, this sedan will give you an alert on your side mirror, so you know when not to change lanes.
