      The 2018 Chevy Malibu comes standard with a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine that delivers 160 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. There’s also an optional 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder that puts out 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.
      The vehicle can also travel farther for longer, as it achieves an EPA-estimated 27 city/36 highway MPG. There’s a hybrid version of the Malibu, as well, which can achieve an EPA-estimated 49 city/43 highway MPG.
      While the Ford Fusion offers many engine options, including a 1.5L EcoBoost® I-4 with Auto Start-Stop technology, it can only achieve an EPA-estimated 23 city/34 highway MPG. This midsize sedan has a hybrid version, too, but it only achieves an EPA-estimated 43 city/41 highway MPG.
      Overall, you’ll need to stop more frequently at the gas station to refuel in the 2018 Fusion.

        Cutting-Edge Technologies

        The Malibu and Fusion offer many high-tech features to help everyone on board stay connected and entertained. Both offer SiriusXM® Satellite Radio to get over 150 channels of commercial-free music, plus sports, comedy, news and more. You can also connect your compatible smartphone into either vehicle through Apple CarPlay™ or Android Auto™. This lets you access your favorite apps, like music playlists, podcasts, and navigation.
        The Chevrolet Malibu has an available 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, as well, which lets you connect up to seven devices to have access to the internet, no matter where you travel. The Ford Fusion, unfortunately, doesn’t offer this feature.

          Advanced Safety Options

          The 2018 Malibu and 2018 Fusion have lots of safety features to help keep everyone safe and secure. They both come with advanced airbag systems that include front airbags and knee airbags.
          Furthermore, they each offer advanced driver-assisting technologies to help prevent an accident from occurring. Some of those shared features include: Lane Keep Assist, Park Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
          The Chevy Malibu also has the available Teen Driver feature. It offers an in-vehicle report card to help parents encourage better driving habits to their teen children. This technology in Teen Driver allows you to:
          • Mute audio when front-seat occupants aren’t wearing their seat belts.
          • Automatically enable certain available safety features, like Side Blind Zone Alert.
          • Set maximum vehicle speed to 85 MPH.
          Although the Ford Fusion offers many other safety options, it doesn’t have anything like Teen Driver.
