TOWING TECH OF THE SILVERADO 1500 VS TUNDRA
When you’re prepping to tow campers and other equipment, it helps to have your truck lend a hand. Both trucks offer an available integrated trailer brake controller. This system lets you hook up the trailer’s braking system with your truck’s and adjust how much brake force you put on the trailer.
The Tundra and the Silverado 1500 also have standard Trailer Sway Control. The Silverado 1500 has it as part of the StabiliTrak electronic stability control system, which also includes Hill Start Assist, Traction Control, and Brake Assist.
The Silverado 1500 also offers a few more available features that make towing even easier. These include the available Advanced Trailering System. This system includes several helpful features, like a pre-departure checklist, trailer light sequencing, tow/haul reminder, and trailer electrical diagnostics. This system also offers trailer profiles.
A helpful tech feature available on the Silverado 1500 is HD Surround Vision. There are up to fifteen available cameras in the Silverado 1500 to help you in various ways, from hitching and driving to parking. HD Surround Vision can even provide a look at your vehicle from above by using all the cameras to create a virtual bird’s-eye image on your infotainment screen.
