This museum has created solutions allowing disabled children with disadvantages both physical and mental to foster a desire for learning and creativity just as well.

    Exhibits

    Inside this museum, you'll find a variety of exhibits for your kids to enjoy. One of the most popular is the art section, where kids can mix primary colors and paint on windows in the art pavilion. This allows them to not only experiment with colors but with light as well. Additionally, your little ones can check out the careers section to get an idea of what certain jobs are like such as running a restaurant or working in a car repair shop.

    Outside the museum, you'll find an entirely different selection of exhibits on the grounds. There's a treehouse with two levels outside along with bikes and trikes to take around small trails. Additionally, you'll find a pond and stream here, both of which are very shallow and gentle. Your kids are sure to enjoy the 25-foot wooden pirate ship, as well, complete with a mast and ramp entry.

      If you're looking to find fun alongside your kids, one of the best options is the Powell Memorial Butterfly Garden and Monarch Waystation. There, you'll find an absolutely stunning collection of vibrant butterflies along with colorful flora from which they love to pollinate. When you and your kids visit, you can learn all about how pollination works in the local ecosystem as well as how to grow gardens of your own.

      During your visit, you may also want to visit the Native Prairie Grass and Wildflower Habitat. The tallgrass prairie once dominated North America, but in the modern age, it's more important than ever to appreciate the preservation of this fascinating habitat. You can learn why there are annual burnings of the prairie as a method of preservation and even see it for yourself if you go at the right time.
